Duplexfilter afregelen is noodzakelijk , de eintrap ziet nu een forse misaanpassing en regelt het vermogen terug.

Neem eerst de Rx uitgang van het Duplexfilter los , en sluit deze af met
een 50 Ohm dummy , de kans is groot dat je de Rx ingang opblaast door
dat er te veel HF van je zender op de ontvangeringang komt.

Ook adviseer ik je om niet de Software van de CDrom te gebruiken , maar
de nieuwe Software die hier in het Forum is geplaatst.

De oude Software op CDrom schrijft iedere verandering naar de EEprom
als zijnde een nieuwe configuratie , net zolang tot de EEprom 'vol' is.

Ik heb dagen lang gezocht waarom de repeater het niet meer deed.....

I have Tripple-P TXU-1256 repeaters and they did run fine, but...

I bought one unit from a friend and three more from the museum. Initially they function properly.

the setup is:

txu-1256 (adjusted to rx @ 431.725, tx@439.325)

original duplexer replaced with an arreal facilities one
txu-nf-out -> wx-steuerung (nf out) -> lingua 12 -> transformer1

wx-steuerung (beep, taken from cpu) -> transformer2

transformr 1 & 2 -> txu-nf-in

the transformers are needed as I did bypass the lingua for the cw beacon and roger beep from the wx-control board and the impedances did not match...

this setup runs very nice for about three month...

after approximately three month the system suddenly fails. the green O.K. LED starts flashing. On plugging the control pc all settings appear to be forgotten. After reprogramming the system will work for a while but during the operation it will reboot all over sudden. without the control pc connected the settings are lost again. if the control pc remains connected with the software running the system comes back after a while.

I also found out that there appears to be some sort of dying process as follows:
On powering up the "O.K." LED takes longer and longer to stay on...

I had this issue with two units now. The last one died saturday evening. I am a little shy of setting up number three and maybe ruin it the same way

Does anyone have an idea what is going on?? Hints? Experiences?

Hi,

i just tried your software (after desperately looking for that .ocx), very nice!
Your Software does NOT run under Windows2000 and also NOT using LINUX in the WINE emulator.
But please, what is the "scanner frequency" section inside the config file good for?
My TXU No. 1 did work after programming it with the CD Version 2 Software again for about 30 Minutes. Now the OK LED is blinking, on the Original Software all LEDs are GREEN but no function.
Might be the EEPROM problem I guess...
Your Software says SYSTEM ERROR problem. On this unit all parameters are reset to 430 MHz / 419 MHz after disconnecting it from the power. Also the serial number is reset to 00001
My TXU No. 2 shows a general frequency lock problem. On this unit all settings stay in memory, but also no function... I will check for the power supply problem...
Trying to correct the center freuency with any software did not help, on your software as after klicking the menu item nothing happens (nothing pops up just the pull-down flipps back)...
Any ideas, hints, ...? Anyone?

Hi Chris,

I have the same problem with 1 of my TXU-sets.
Changed already the complete microprocessor-pcb, no effect.
I suppose the problem is caused by the oscillatorboard.
Originally this set was designed for max 430 MHz, so be sure to adjust the TX and RX PLL. should measure abt. 7 Volts.
I am searching for this adjustment on the freq.pcb and let you know the exact location when found.

Further-on ; check your voltages on the psa.

My set did fail whole summer, and right on this moment; no fale, suppose it is critical in locking i.e. with temperature....

I hope that Ruud PH1RB can give some more information abt. his new program, looks great, but i have some problems with the frequentie-listings for choosing freqs.

I try to use the DOS-version now, but special RS232-cable needed in DOS-version (not the same as in software that came with the set from museum Jan Corver).

Hope that info and discussion about this great sets will continue !

The problem is double:

The EPROM gets filled up with codes, and there is a problem with the PSU. I also have four of these repeaters, and only one works fine.

The processor crashes due to bad power supply voltages. this is a time related problem.

Remedy: replace all electrolytic capacitors in the Power Supply Unit.

Suggestion ?

Arrange a meeting for TXU1256 -owners ?
Once there are about 250 sets around.
Organise a special Measurement Day ?
To discover the Different sets/batches TCXO, Serial Number, places the set has been used?
.
I'am for sure that most of them worked perfectly fine in there function for mobile transmission link on the Dutch Continental Shelf, either on the platformsites and either on the ship-sites ; AND in the frequencyband this sets where designed for! Availibilty measurements where way above the 99% in that time!

I can try to contact one/more service-technicians from that time and get them enthousiastic.

If present TXU1256 -owners give enough responses.......

My set No. 1; PI2RGK IN: 431.850, OUT 430.250 MHz, near Haarlem, with TXU1256, runs perfectly.
My set No. 2 ; Echolink to PI2RGK with TXU1256, set runs perfectly.


My set No. 3 is for my own repeater IN 431.250, OUT 438.850 MHz ; fails with "out of lock, .....?)

My set No. 4 (reserve) seems to be OK.

PS; Sets for use in high frequencies; i.e. combinations with receiver near 432 MHz seems to have more PLL locking problems (depending on TCXO batch).

Software probleem...

Ik had een "dode" TXU1256 (knipperende LED)
Eprom eruit geflikkerd, andere in de plaats (lege...)
gedaan met knipperen...jippie

met de nieuwe software van Ruud dan frequenties erin trachten te zetten maar dit lukt me alleen op kanaal twee.

centerfrequentie 439.0000 en dan komt deze in de twee TX vakjes te staan. RX vakjes zijn 419.9000

Na wat klooien er dan toch in geslaagd om in kanaal twee 439.0250 te krijgen en 431.4250 nadat ik de .ini veranderd had, maar kanaal 2 blijft de default 439.0000 en 419.9000 behouden.

Op kanaal twee zijn er dus pulldownmenu's, op kanaal één NIET. ?????

Ik heb sinds enige tijd een triple-p repeater, nu zijn er een stuk of wat van die rubberen afstandhouders kapot onder de grote hoofdprint (dit probleem schijnt vaak voor te komen in de triple-p) en het schijnt dat men hier géén metalen afstandhouders in mag plaatsen ivm. ground loops etc....

VRAAG: Heeft iemand een idee waar ik deze rubberen afstandhouders zou kunnen bestellen of misschien heeft iemand hetzelfde probleem gehad en er een goed (galvanisch gescheiden)alternatief voor gevonden ?

alvast bedankt voor eventueel advies of naam van een leverancier.

metalen vervangafstandsbussen zijn GEEN probleem, de grounding kan er alleen maar beter op worden.
Enige gevaar zijn microphonics voor de VCO modules, maar voor een repeater die stil in een kast staat mag dit ook geen probleem zijn.

Ik heb bij de paar pootjes die los waren gewoon de boel terug aan elkaar gelijmd met een geschikte lijmsoort.

Hoi,

Ik heb het als volgt opgelost+

Neem een stuk RG213 coax kabel of iets dergelijks.

Gebruik alleen de isolatie van de kern. Je kunt stukjes snijden van ca 2 cm lengte (meet even de maat van de oude rubberen voetjes) .
Tap hierin schroefdraad (ik dacht M2,5 evt. M3.
Haal voorzichtig de oude rubberen voetjes eruit, er zit lak op de schroefdraad, het kan aardig vastzitten.
Zet de nieuwe busjes ertussen.

Werkt bij mij in 3 sets uitstekend, de 4e moet ik nog doen.

Zeer bedankt voor jullie tips, daar kan ik mee aan de slag.
Nu weet ik eindelijk hoe ik de rubberen afstandshouders kan vervangen en kan ik mijn repeater daarna eindelijk weer in elkaar zetten, dit was het enige wat er nog aan schorte.

Ik heb onlangs een TXU gebruikt om samen met een node adapter een D-Star repeater te creeren.
Dit is zeer goed gelukt. De beschrijving van mijn bevindingen vind je in de bijlagen.

Ik heb vandaag m'n tripple P aangepast volgens de PDF en eerst testen waren uitstekend .
De SQL uitgang gebruik ik momenteel niet , gebruik SoftCos , dus de SQL staat continu open op de Tripple P .
TX ON heeft geen invloed , ptt via Driver werkt zowel als TX ON of OFF staat . ( is idd veel beter dan de PA te sturen anders hoor idd die toon die de node adapter continu geeft in IDLE .

Nog een kleine opmerking bij vorige post , ik heb de 2 massa's van de Audio en Multi connector niet samengelegd , gebruik enkel de Massa van de audio connector .
Indien ik ze samen leg werkt het allemaal wel , echter communicatie via seriële poort naar pc lukt dan niet meer .

Ondertussen heb ik een 2de Tripple P , echter die zond LAAG en ontving Hoog zo te zien .
Ik heb de freqenties er in kunnen zetten zonder probleem , RX werkt prima . Echter TX werkt niet omdat TX Freq niet wil Locken . ( vermoed Freq te hoog .. zond vroeger op 419Mhz nu op 438Mz )
2 ledjes knipperen op de tripple P Ok en TX on volgens een bepaald ritme ..

In log file van de soft staat dan uiteraard ook : 11-03-2010 @ 18:04 - TX Frequency Lock Alarm

Zou dit op te lossen zijn door de VCO spanning bij te regelen ? ( m'n andere lockt direct dus heb ik maar af gebleven )

inmiddels opgelost .. had de coaxjes met SMB connector per abuis verwisseld bij vervangen van de rubberen pootjes van de TX Driver/LO print door teflon/plastiek schroeven .

Ook power afgeregeld op max ( +/- 7 watt op 439.000 ) .
