Dit keer met China, ook actief op de far-side of the moon.

Geen eerlijk vergelijk.... Op de maan kun je moeilijk dichte metalen platen neerleggen, maar wel een zeer beperkt draad-netwerk. Iets met kosten per gewicht om te lanceren en transporteren naar de maan.
Hierdoor zal Arecibo veel breder inzetbaar zijn (lees: veel breder frequentie spectrum) dan op de maan.
Anderzijds (dat dan weer wel) heb je i.d.d. op de maan veel minder last van man-made noise.
De chinezen hebben ook zoiets: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five-hund ... _Telescope en die is al andres inzetbaar (70Mhz - 3GHz) dan Arecibo (300MHz - 10GHz)
Hierdoor zal Arecibo veel breder inzetbaar zijn (lees: veel breder frequentie spectrum) dan op de maan.
